Sash Window Renovation

Looking after the charming box sash windows of Hastings, Handyman House & Garden can banish those rattles and draughts and return your windows to their best.
Repairs to timber and workings:
  • Windows units removed from sash box;
  • Decaying timber removed;
  • Epoxy resin used to fill cavities and moulded to match timber profile;
  • Sash cords replaced, pulleys serviced and sashes correctly balanced for smooth running;
  • Any bare timber primed ready for painting.
The window will run smoothly and be ready to stand up to the weather for years to come after a final coat of paint.
Draught, rattle and noise reduction:
  • After renovation, grooves routed in mid and bottom rail;
  • Pile carriers and weather brush pile inserted into routed grooves in window;
  • New parting and staff beads installed incorporating brush pile to complete the seal;
  • Any bare timber primed ready for painting.
All gaps around the window are thus sealed but the appearance and operation of the window is unchanged.
