Service Standards

We take pride in a job well done and we love taking good care of our customers. Our Service Standards are what you can expect from Handyman House & Garden every time.
1) The first time you contact us...
you'll have the chance to speak to us in person or leave a message and we'll call you back the same day where possible. We'll take some contact information and arrange a time to visit you.
 
2) When we make an appointment with you...
we'll give you a specific 1hr slot in which we aim to arrive. We usually get there on time, however, if we are delayed we will contact you to let you know our revised arrival time. 
 
3) When we visit you...
we'll be identifiable by our logo displayed on our van. We'll provide you with a business card and a complete set of contact details. We are enhanced DBS checked and you can request to see proof of this. You'll receive a quote or estimate within 3 working days of this visit.
 
4) In your home...
we'll take every precaution to safeguard your possessions and finishes.
 
5) In our free estimates...
we'll provide a breakdown of material costs and labour so that you can see how your money is being spent before you hire us.
 
6) Before we start work...
we'll agree a start date and time, access arrangements and discuss a suitable area to work in. We will invoice you for any materials and order these for your project.
 
7) When we work in your home...
we'll work around you, being sensitive to your routines and minimise any disruption. Where our work generates dust, we'll use dust sheets, extraction and collection facilities to contain and minimise airborne pollution.
 
8) At the end of each day in your home...
we'll pack away tools to a safe area, and clean our workspace down.
 
9) During the project...
we will keep you informed of progress. In the unlikely event that we have to consider remedial work or purchase materials outside the agreed estimate, we will discuss and agree this with you beforehand.
 
10) At the end of the project...
we will check the work with you to ensure you are completely satisfied. Payment can be made by cash or electronic bank transer. We are always happy to return to deal with any snagging that might arise.
 
11) What about your guarantee...
All our work carries the Handyman House & Garden Guarantee, which means that if you are not completely satisfied with the work undertaken, we will come back at no extra charge to put things right.
  • All parts we supply are guaranteed for 6 months.
  • We also carry £1M of liability insurance should something a little more serious go wrong.
  • So the Handyman and his work are fully guaranteed and insured.
